Akon’s Vision for a “Real-Life Wakanda” Officially Shelved 💔
Back in 2020, music star Akon unveiled bold plans for *Akon City* a $6 billion futuristic metropolis in Senegal, inspired by the tech-savvy world of Wakanda. Marketed as a pan-African utopia, the city promised cutting-edge innovation, sustainability, and economic opportunity.
However, after seven years of delays and minimal visible progress, the ambitious project has now been officially scrapped.
Akon has confirmed that while *Akon City* as originally envisioned won’t move forward, the land will still be developed for a new, more practical initiative in the same location.
